Jane Louise Stevenson Lucas, 63, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Alamance Regional Hospital.
Jane was born on February 14, 1954 in Coldspring, New York to the late Kenneth and Florance Stevenson. She was a tremendous wife, mother and grandmother while bringing laughter to her family in many various ways. As a mother figure to so many, Jane alongside her husband, fostered many children through the years. Her favorite times were spent with her family at various dinners and holidays. Jane was the glue that held the family together through the tough times of life. Her hobbies included listening to music and reading the books of Steven King and James Patterson. Her artistic talent showed in her many sculptures that she crafted. She was a friend to all, desiring to do anything she could for people.
Jane is survived by her husband, Stephen Lucas of the home; sons: Kyle Lucas and wife, of Highland Falls, New York, Andrew Lucas, Jonathan Lucas, Jeremy Lucas, Stephen Lucas, Kevin Lucas and Shane Post and wife, all of Reidsville; daughters: Courtney Lucas of New York and Lauren Lucas Baker and husband, of Virginia; grandchildren: Evan, Leanna, and Elizabeth Lucas, Kyler Lucas, Justin Harrington, Jason Lucas, Logan Lucas, Aidan Lucas, Farrah Lucas, Aqua Baker and Natalie Post; one great grandchild, Declan Harrington; and a brother, Kenneth Stevenson.
Jane will forever be remembered and missed by both family and a multitude of friends. The family of Mrs. Lucas will welcome friends into their home in North Carolina and New York at later dates to reminisce and celebrate the life she had. Many appreciations are sent to the staff in the intensive care unit at Alamance Regional Hospital for their kind support.
