Janice Lynn Knight

Reidsville: Janice Lynn Knight, 71, of Summerfield, passed away peacefully, January 29, 2019, at Brian Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019, at Mission First formerly known as First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Christy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Janice was born in Rockingham County to the late Hugh Lee Knight Jr. and Mary Carter Knight. She graduated from Bethany High School and later from Appalachian State University where she received a degree in Education. She retired from Rockingham County Schools with over 30 years of service. Janice loved being the scorekeeper for the Reidsville High School Baseball team. She was a long term member of First United Methodist Church where she served in multiple roles, ranging from Sunday School teacher to Choir Director. She will be greatly missed. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles Kenneth Knight; sister, Vicki Carol Knight and foster brother, Jimmy Culberson. She is survived by her nephews Jason D. Knight, Joshua P. Knight and Robert L. Knight; great niece, Alexia A. Knight and great nephews, Cruz A. Knight and Gavin K. Knight.
