Jackie Boatright

Jacqueline “Jackie” Sheppard Boatright, 72, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Jackie had requested that she be cremated and have an informal gathering for family and friends. The family will gather to celebrate her life, at the home of her daughter, Lisa Lovings, 417 Pannel Road, on Friday, March 21, 2025, starting at 4:00 PM.

Jackie was born and raised in Washington Co., GA along with her 5 siblings. She moved to Reidsville in 1987 and remained working in the textile industry for a total of 35 years until her retirement. She loved to birdwatch and had numerous birdfeeders. Each year she looked forward to planting her flowers and watching them bloom, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great grandson, Easton. Her ability to listen made it easy for people to trust and confide in her. Her strong will and feisty attitude brought joy and laughter to everyone until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Frances Sheppard; triplet sister, Joanna Sheppard and brother, Robert “Bean” Sheppard.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lovings and husband, Andy; grandson Jacob Lovings and granddaughter Andrea Mitchell and husband, Austin; great grandson, Easton Mitchell; sister, Rosa Nell Barron and triplet sister, Julia Sheppard; brother, Carl Sheppard; longtime companion of 25 years, Clinton Moore; and his daughter, Shannon Rojas and husband, Lopez; and his grandchildren, Adrian and Lilianna Machuca, Ethan Salinas and Alicia Morales, who she considered as her own.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or the Rockingham County Animal Shelter, 250 Cherokee Camp Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Rockingham County for their compassionate care and support during Jackie’s final weeks.
