Jean Plummer Pierce

Sylvia Jean Plummer Pierce, 82, went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Hospice of Rockingham County, The Gibson House with her sons by her side.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Duncan and Pastor David Anderson officiating. The burial will follow at Smyrna Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Jean was born in Guilford County to the late Lester and Lillian Everette. She retired from Proctor and Gamble as a lab technician. She was a longtime and faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church. Jean was a voracious reader, loved time at the beach and enjoyed watching Cardinals wherever they might land. She adored her family and was looking forward to “going Home” to be with her son and sisters. Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son Bobby Garland Plummer; sisters Layne Joyce McCollum, Janet Garlene Dixon, and Lillian Patricia King.

Jean is survived by her sons Robert “Chuck” Plummer and wife Teresa and Kenneth Plummer; daughter, Jessica Jean Plummer Chambers; grandchildren Alexandra Rachel Jones, Tristan Gage Chambers, Mason Kenneth Plummer, Sebastian Taylor, Carly Madison Chambers, Sterling Mathis, Rajah Johnson, Joey Deganhart, and Jessie Deganhart; great grandchildren Fraeya Chambers and Rage Chambers.
