Jerry S. "Jay" Ballard

Reidsville – Mr. Jerry S. “Jay” Ballard, 67, of Reidsville, passed away on Sunday, June 14th, 2015 at his home. Mr. Ballard was born September 7th, 1947 in Moore County to the late Sherrill Stephen Ballard and Ruth Spinks Ballard. He was a hard worker who knew the value of treating the customer right and always went above and beyond to help others. Jay was blessed with almost twelve more years after receiving a heart transplant. He was a believer in Christ and a member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a step-grandson. Survivors include his wife, Faye Ballard of the home; one daughter, Meghan Brantingham and husband, Isaac of Floyd, Virginia; one granddaughter, Emmerson Brantingham; two step-children, Russ Carter of Reidsville; April Pulliam of Florida; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Moser of Laurenburg and two nieces. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at eleven o’clock at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
