Jerry Lee Bateman

Reidsville – Jerry Lee Bateman, 73, of 556 Lake Lemar Drive, died on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Emerald Isle, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 30th at New Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Venable officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge View Memorial Gardens. Jerry was born in Danville, VA to the late Harold Bateman and Helen Milam Bateman. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Miller Brewery after 28 years of service. Jerry was a very active member of New Heights Baptist Church where he also sang in the choir. He loved being outdoors and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Wilson Bateman of the home; sons, Keim Bateman and wife, Bonnie, and Gary Bateman; daughter, Angela Hopkins; two grandchildren, sisters, Rosa Issaeson and Vickie Cline. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
