Jerry Bernard Garner

Beaufort – Jerry Bernard Garner, 67, formerly of Reidsville, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Evergreen Memory Gardens of Reidsville, with Rev. Karen Jenkins officiating. Mr. Garner was born on June 13, 1943 in Reidsville, NC to the late William Larry “W.L.” and Eleanor Garrison Garner. Prior to moving to Beaufort, NC, he was a member of First Congregational Christian Church and served in the United States Air Force. After his military service he was employed by the Civil Service in Cherry Point, NC until his retirement in 1995. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Holt Garner.Jerry is survived by his daughter, Tina Nabors of Stokesdale, NC; son, Richard Warren Garner, Sr., of Gloucester, VA; grandchildren, Richard Warren Garner, Jr., and Randi Rene Garner; brother, Kenneth L. Garner of Greensboro, NC; former brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Betty Gunn of Ruffin, NC.The family will receive friends Thursday, July 8th from 6 – 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
