Browns Summit: Jerry Raymond Hopkins, 79, of 4429 E NC Hwy 150, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Wesley Long Hospital. A visitation will be held before the service on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 9:00 til 11:00AM at Wilkerson Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fair Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will follow there after the committal service. And other times the family will be at Jeff and Debbie’s home, 7739 Doggett Road, Browns Summit, N.C. Jerry was born in Alamance County to the late Clarence Roach Hopkins and Jennie Troxler Hopkins and was the owner of Hopkins Poultry. He was a member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church and retired fire chief of Northeast Guilford Volunteer Fire Department. A most respected gentleman he was very active in his community. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine W. Hopkins and brother, Phill Hopkins. Survivors include his children, Jeff Hopkins, Sr. and wife, Debbie of Browns Summit, Mike Hopkins and wife, Tami of California and Phyllis Paschall and husband, Scott of Browns Summit; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hopkins, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Walter Paschall, Becky Paschall, Jonathan Hopkins and Elizabeth Hopkins and special friend, Jo Ellen Barley.
