Jerry Michael Jones

Reidsville – Jerry “Mike” Michael Jones, 55, of 1323 Sherwood Drive, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 23, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mickey Alcorn officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mr. Jones was born in Rockingham County to the late James Franklin and Minnie Snyder Jones. An honored veteran, Mike served 12 years in the US Army and Navy. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Bible Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, Mike loved to hunt, fish and play golf with friends and family. He was a member of the Nubbin Ridge Hunting Club and the Monroeton Golf Club. Mike was also a former member of the Jefferson Penn Masonic Loge # 384. A devoted employee at Ball Corporation, Mike enjoyed the friendship and support he received from his wonderful coworkers there. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Franklin Jones. Survivors include his brother, Bobby Jones and wife, Angie; nephews, Jimmy Jones and wife, Caroline and Kevin Jones and wife, Deidra, all of Reidsville. Mike was a proud uncle of his great nephew, Clay Jones and great niece, McKensey Jones. Visitation will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22nd from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and other times at the home of Bobby Jones, 621 Meadow Branch Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
