Jerry Williams Turpin

Reidsville– Jerry Williams Turpin, born, March 22, 1935, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Carolina House of Reidsville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 10, 2014 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Wishon officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Jerry was a native of Rockingham County and the son of the late, Wade and Inez Walker Turpin. He was a lifelong resident of Reidsville and graduated from Elon University. He was the retired fire chief of the Yanceyville Road Volunteer Fire Department and retired as the branch manager from BB&T. Jerry was active in various civic, community and governmental organizations. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Johnny Turpin and his sister, Becky Robertson. Jerry is survived by his wife, Elinda Parker Turpin of the home; his sons, Tracy Turpin and wife, Malinda and Parker Turpin and wife, Pam all of Reidsville; grandchildren, April and Wade; great grandchildren, Bobby and Hope; and mother-in-law, Louise Parker.
