Jesse Neil Johnson

: Jessie “Neil” Johnson, 83, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 6th at Annie Penn Hospital. The Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 9th, 2016, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Huggins and Dr. Bill Duke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. The entombment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery with full military honors following the service. Neil was a native of Rockingham County and the son of the late Jessie and Thelma Nance Johnson. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the first graduating class of Rockingham Community College where he received his certification as a machinist. He retired after 30 years of service with Zarn Inc. in Reidsville. After retiring he enjoyed working with the Council on Aging. Back in the day he loved to drag race and was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Peggy Farmer Johnson of the home; sisters, Esther Boyd of Reidsville and Hazel Lewis of Graham as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
