Jesse Lee May

Jesse Lee May, 77, gained his heavenly wings on Friday, March 28, 2025.

In honor of Jesse’s wishes, there will not be a formal service at this time.

Jesse was born on August 6, 1947, in Guilford County, to the late William Calvin May and Mary Pete Lucas May. He was the owner and operator of Jesse May Grading Contractor in Reidsville. He liked to sit on his front porch and watch the traffic go by. More than anything, he loved seeing his grandkids and great-grandson. He always enjoyed riding around in his contraption seat for the lawn mower.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Perdue May; brothers, Edward May, Wayne May, and James May; and his faithful companion, Bruiser.

He is survived by his son, Michael May and wife Tammy; daughter, Michelle May and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Angell May, Dakota May, Summer Smith; great-grandson, Dillon “Nugget” May; sisters, Shirley Shelton and Barbara Ann Bowden. In addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Eden Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wilkerson Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses or to Eden Rehabilitation Center, 226 N Oakland Ave, Eden, NC 27288.
