Reidsville– Jesse Watlington Smith, 81, of 8301 US 158 W, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder David Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Justin Gwynn, Kevin Moore, Chris Cain, Matt Thompson, Ashby Penn, Peyton Smith, Tyler Brisson and Penn McMichael. Honorary pallbearers are Herbert Robertson and Hubert Ferguson.Jesse was born in Caswell County to the late Lester Floyd and Annie Brintle Smith. He was a machinist at P. Lorillard for 32 years; attended Lick Fork and Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Churches. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Stella Gwynn and brother, Harvey Smith. He is survived by his wife, Gabrelle Shumate Smith of the home; sons, James Keith Smith and wife, Sandra, Joseph Timothy Smith and wife, Debbie, deceased and Jeffrey Lee Smith and wife, Dale; grandchildren, Ashleigh Thompson and husband, Matt, Amy Roethler and husband, Bryce, Meredith Smith, Peyton Smith, Lauren Smith and Robbie Smith; great grandchildren, Jacob and Aidan Thompson, Landon and Madelyn Roethler and sister, Edna Paschal.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Friday, May 7, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. and other times the family will be at the residence.
