Jewel Dean Ward Woodson

Reidsville: Jewel Dean Ward Woodson, 67, of 180 Carl Lane, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at her home.A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Mrs. Woodson was born in Rockingham County on August 20, 1944 to the late Major and Sallie Wilson Ward. She was of the Baptist faith. Jewel always had a smile as she greeted people at Wal-mart. She filled the home full of love for her family but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dora Bailey, Gracie Brannock and Novella Massey; brother, Lonnie Ward.She is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas Wayne Woodson, Sr. of the home; sons, Douglas Wayne Woodson, Jr., Michael Lee Woodson, Sr. both of Reidsville, and Frankie David Sparks of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Jessica Starr Woodson, Michael Lee Woodson, Jr., Amber Royal Sparks and Brittany Nichole Whitt; sisters, Ethel Baker and Nellie Hawkins; brother, Phillip Ward and a large extended family.The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
