– MSG (Ret) Jimmie A. Foster, 81, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017, at his home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Loftis officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00AM- 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother Linnie Walker and her husband, Paul Calvin Durham, his father, Allen Harrelson Foster and his wife, Marianne D. Foster. He was retired from the US Army Special Forces and from Law Enforcement. He exaggerated his age to first join the Army to serve in the Korean Conflict, he remained in the Reserves before going back active duty in 1964. He served in Vietnam as well as several other conflicts around the world. After he retired in 1984 he continued to serve by becoming a law enforcement officer serving as a deputy for the Hoke County Sheriff’s department, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s department and the Pinehurst Police department. After his second retirement he stayed busy with his farm and music. He was an avid fan of music and played the guitar and sang.
Survivors include his current wife Johanna Lundis Foster; sons, Allen L. Foster (Pattie Sue), James H. Foster (Holly), Stephen M. Foster (Natalie); daughter, Kelly A. Foster and special friend and aid, Anthony Campos; grandchildren, Vincente Foster, Kara Hutchins, Jerimiah Ashley, Jared Ashley, Caleb Foster and Linnie Foster and numerous great grandchildren.
