Jo Ann Green, 82, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, May 27, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Bouck officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Jo Ann was born in Guilford County to the late John William Payne and Mary Cleo Brown Payne. She began her early years as a secretary at AMP Incorporated before joining her husband farming tobacco in Brown Summit. Together, they would retire from farming and spend the rest of their careers as co-owners and operators of Monroeton Golf Club, where she was the heart of the course, hosting and playing in many tournaments. Jo Ann was a devout member of Monticello United Church of Christ where she was the pianist for approximately 30 years. When she wasn’t overseeing operations at the golf course, she spent her time traveling the country with her husband and friends. One of Jo Ann’s greatest joys came from spending time in her beloved flower gardens.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Tracy Tillman Green and brother, Henry Payne.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Otis Tillman Green; daughter, Cheryl Green Yeatts (Jesse); grandchildren, Ashleigh Falls, Aly Belongia (Rich) and Stone Yeatts; great granddaughter, Sadie Jo Belongia as well as a loving extended family.
