Reidsville: Jo Ann Dickens Wray, 78, of 657 Boyd Road, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 21, 2013 at Smyrna Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Larsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jo Ann was born in Rockingham County to the late Charlie Dickens and Mabel Talley Dickens. She was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church, member and past president of the teacher’s sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa and retired from the Reidsville Junior High School where she was an 8th grade teacher. She was a sales representative with Stanley Home Products for many years. Her family was her number one priority in life and she loved to cook for her family and others.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wayne R. Wray of the home; children, Tom Wray and wife, Pam of Jamestown, Tim Wray and wife Rose Marie of Reidsville, Randy Wray of Brooklyn, NY, and Tammy W. McMillan and husband, Carl of Mooresville; grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica, Nathan, Caleb and Christian Wray and Jacob Pearson; step grandchildren, Ryan, Colin and Blythe McMillan, Brittany and Eric Morris; brother, Curtis Dickens and wife Sandra of Reidsville; sister, Helen Norman of Reidsville.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 20th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and at the home of Tim and Rose Marie Wray, 1403 Ashland Drive, Reidsville on Saturday, January 19th from 11:00AM to 4:00 PM.
