Joan Pennini

Joan Maureen Meekins Pennini, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home in North Carolina. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Joan was born in High Point, North Carolina to the late James Harmon Meekins and Mary Susan Melvin. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading and had a great sense of humor. Although she lived much of her life in Maryland, she never lost her southern charm. She was an avid Tarheels fan. Above all, her family was everything. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her many brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Susan Pennini Watkins, Frank Pennini and wife, Christine, Lisa Pennini Blum and husband, Jimmy, Christopher Pennini and wife Patty, Julie Pennini, Richard Pennini and wife, Meghan; grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Tony, Sarah, Melissa, Julie, Matthew, Kyle, Amelia, Alenna and Miles; 9 great grandchildren and a large and loving extended family. The family would like to offer special thanks to her loving grand daughter-in-law and caregiver, Brittany Watkins.
