JoAnn Richards Collins

Reidsville- JoAnn Richards Collins, 67, of Reidsville, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. JoAnn was born on December 6, 1946, in Caswell County to the late General George Richards and Roxanna Bailey Richards. She retired from Kmart after 20 years. She loved to be outside working in her garden and loved to read. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Collins and a brother, Everett Richards. Survivors include her daughters, Daffney Strader and husband Benny, Barbara Vanorsdale and husband Isaac, Bobbie Jo Carter and Roger Gibson, Jr. and Crystal Morton; grandchildren, Stephanie Lawrence and husband Kevin, James Isley and wife Paige, Samantha Bateman and husband Chris, Faith Sartin, Brianna Carter, Taylor Carter, Tyler Gibson, Cody Gibson, Brooklyn Harrison and Blake Cox; four great grandchildren; brothers, Donald Richards and Russell Richards; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at 231 Rob Tom Rd. in Eden.
