Eden – JoAnn Martin (Boyd), 62, died on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Annie Penn Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Reidlawn Cemetery. JoAnn was born on May 15, 1949 to the late W.T. and Josephine Palumbo Martin. She loved to travel, spent time with family and living life to the fullest. JoAnn loved her children and especially her 3 grandchildren. At the age of 60 she decided to go back to school to receive her CNA so she could start a new chapter in her life. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her nephew, Michael O’Neal Turner Jr. and brother-in-law, Michael O’Neal Turner Sr. She is survived by son, Jeffrey Boyd of Orlando, FL; daughter, Melissa Boyd Underwood and husband, Greg of Eden; grandchildren, Joshua Waldrop, Elijah Waldrop and Cameron Underwood; sisters, Mary Jane Turner of Reidsville, SueAnn Haskins and husband William of Reidsville, and Grace Butler and husband Rudy of Manakin-Sabot, VA; nieces and nephews, Mark Turner, Christina Burke and William Butler; god-daughter, Brittany Hollandsworth and former husband Melvin Boyd. . The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 6:00-8:00PM and other times at the residence of Melvin Boyd, 414 Turner Drive Ext., Reidsville, NC. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of the third floor at Annie Penn Hospital for all the love and care they showed Mrs. Martin during her stay.
