Joanne McGee Carter

Reidsville - JoAnne McGee Carter, 68, of 7737 US 29 lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 10, 2011 at Beacon Place of Greensboro.A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Lakeview Memorial Park with Rev. Joe Chandler officiating. Mrs. Carter was born in Rockingham County to the late Thurman Johnson and Mary Stanley McGee. She was of the Baptist faith that loved spending time with her grandchildren. JoAnne enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, bowling and cooking. She enjoyed living life to the fullest but most of all she loved her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Edward McGee.Survivors include her sons, Michael E. Carter, Sr. of Reidsville and Danny L. Carter of Greensboro; daughter, Lisa A. Summey and husband, Brian of Reidsville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Dillard W. McGee, Sr. and wife, Anne of Greensboro.There will not be a former visitation but the family will receive friends at JoAnne's home, 7737 US 29, Reidsville.
