Joe Cleveland Tilley

Reidsville –Mr. Joe Cleveland Tilley, of 314 Copperhead Road, Reidsville, died Thursday, January 24, 2013. Joe was born March 1, 1934 in Rockingham County to the late Howard Tilley and Bertha Parker Tilley. He was a self-employed carpet installer and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Tilley; brothers, Wayne V. Tilley and Harvey Tilley; sister: Daisy Hopkins. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah and husband Jeff Brown of Wilmington; Kim and husband Jeff Briggs of Greensboro; two step-daughters, Debby and husband David Pryor of Greensboro; Jewell Penn of Reidsville; one step-son, Bobby Scott of Danville and he was known as “Papa Carpet” to his many grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful dog and companion, “ Lucky.” Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 2:00 P. M. in Wilkerson Funeral Home. Rev. Doyle Marley will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.
