John Abner Black

Reidsville – John Abner Black, Jr., 92, formerly of 3319 Vance Street Ext, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Avante of Reidsville. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Black was born in Salisbury to the late John Abner Black, Sr. and Mabel Hatch Black. He was vice President of personal at Butte Knitting. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Black. Survivors include his son, John A. Black, III and wife Dorothy; grandchildren, Janet Dunbar and husband, Tom and Kenneth J. Black and wife Michelle; great grandchildren, Diana Turner and husband, Jon, Ian Dunbar, Alexander Black, Sophia Black and Trevor Black and sister, Maureen Black Langstaff of Tennessee. The family would like to thank the staff of Eden Estates and Avante of Reidsville for the love and care given to Mr. Black. Wilkerson Funeral Home is assisting the Black family.
