John Byron Byrd

Greensboro – John “Byron” Byrd, 97, of Golden Living Care, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010.Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Bill Knight and Rev. Suzanne Michael officiating.Mr. Byrd was born in Rockingham County, to the late Cassie and Georgianna Adkins Byrd and was a farmer. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfonzo Byrd and Howard Byrd. Survivors include his nieces, Kathryn Tucker and husband, Odell and Peggy Ivey and husband, Bob; nephew, David Byrd and wife, Jane all of Greensboro; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.There will be no formal visitation.Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
