John Johnny Carter

Reidsville – John M. “Johnny” Carter, Jr., 69, of 8692 Hwy 87 N, died Thursday, April 9, 2007 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Barry Darnell officiating. Mr. Carter was born in Rockingham County to the late John Moody Carter, Sr. and Jessie Reid Carter. He was the owner and operator of Carter Construction Company. He loved working and the outdoors. He was a gifted landscaper. Johnny was very generous and a faithful family man. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lawson Carter of the home; his children, John M. Carter, III and wife, Lori, Jessica Carter Price and Craig Carter and wife, Jennifer all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Ashley Carter, John M. Carter, IV, Luke W. Carter, Marlon Price, Jr., John Price, Lisabeth Carter and Aaron Carter; brother, Versa Carter and wife, Kathleen of Reidsville; sister, Lois Marachi of Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, from 7-9 PM and other times at the residence.
