John Franklin Dickerson

Reidsville - John Franklin Dickerson, 75, of 329 Rockingham Lake Road, died on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Mrs. Irish Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Dickerson was born in Rockingham County to the late Andrew Franklin and Cora Guy Dickerson. He was a retired representative of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). He was always friendly and would talk to anyone that would listen. He loved politics, welding and especially his work. He was passionate about helping people get their fair share. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Ina Pettitt Dickerson of the home; his children, Gary Franklin Dickerson and wife, Irish and Linda Dickerson Ferguson and husband, Kenneth all of Reidsville; his grandchildren, Tammie McKeithan and husband, Larry, April Reid and husband, Richard, Stacey Price and husband, David and Gary Franklin Dickerson, II and wife, Carye; his great grandchildren, Larry, Rebekah and Amelia McKeithan, Olivia and Kailee Price and Gary Franklin Dickerson, III; his sisters, Shirley Smith of Durham and Effie Denny of Reidsville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, August 27th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
