John Kenneth Lassiter

Greensboro, N.C. – John Kenneth Lassiter, 75, of 814 Guilford College Road, died Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009, 1:00 PM at Blanch Baptist Church Cemetery in Blanch, NC, with the Rev. David Owen officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pulaski Stewart Lassiter and Cornelia Ferrell; one sister and one brother. Ken was a retired Radar Technician with the Federal Aviation Administration and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a graduate of Elon College, a pilot and flight instructor. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Moose Lodge in New Port. He enjoyed traveling and spent considerable time in retirement at New Port, NC.Survivors include a son, John Kevin Lassiter and wife, Ashley; two grandchildren, Ryan and Ashlyn Lassiter of Greensboro; a sister, Coleen Flint of Tennessee and a brother, Richard Lassiter of Burlington, NC.There will be no formal visitation.Memorials may be made to the Veteran’s Association.Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville, NC is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
