John Wayne Mabe

Reidsville: John Wayne Mabe, 66, of 1677 County Home Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Billy’s home (1313 Ridgewood Ave). Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 3, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at the Hall and Mabe Family Cemetery. John was a native of Rockingham County and the son of the late Billy Mabe and Mary Hall Minter. He was a member of the Reidsville Church of God and worked most of his life as a farmer. He was a gifted handyman including woodworking, carpentry, gardening and farming. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Mabe. He is survived by his wife, Frances of the home; his children, Allen Gauldin and wife, Tonya, Billy Mabe, Mark Mabe and wife, Lisa, Michael Mabe, Angie Gauldin Greeson and Diane Mabe Derks and husband, Kevin; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 2 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Billy’s home.
