John Quincy Parsons

Walnut Cove: John Quincy Parsons, 86, of Walnut Cove, NC, passed away at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, November 15, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 18, at Pleasant View Assembly of God Church, 10792 Cherry Grove Road, Reidsville, with Rev. Gary Loftis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Quincy had been in declining health for several years and was given the best of care by his devoted wife. He was owner and operator of Parsons' Sawmill for 45 years before retiring. He was a member of Pleasant View Assembly of God Church where he loved to go and worship. Quincy was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to many people. Quincy is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Smith Parsons; 3 children, John Parsons and wife, Jo Ann, Susan Mabe and husband, Keith of Kernersville, NC, Mikeal Parsons and wife, Heidi of Woodway, Texas; 2 stepchildren, Sheila Ansell and husband, Gary of Moyock, NC, Kenny Jefferson and wife, Bonnie of Yanceyville, NC; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson Parsons and Nina Robinette Parsons, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Reidsville, NC from 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, November 17 and other times at the home, 1351 Old Town Road, Walnut Cove, NC.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant View Assembly of God Church, 10792 Cherry Grove Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
