John Wayne Pruitt

John “Wayne” Pruitt, 78, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his home. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home. Wayne was born in Rockingham County to the late John and Mabel Mays Pruitt. He attended Ruffin High School and was a retiree of Harris Teeter. He was a former president of the Virginia Carolina Classic Chevy Club and was known as the 57’ Chevrolet Man. Along with his parents Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Pruitt. Survivors include his wife, Betty Pruitt; son, Bobby Pruitt and wife, Tracy and uncle, David Pruitt.
