John Wayne Soyars

Reidsville: John Wayne Soyars, 77, of 851 County Line Road, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Carter officiating. The burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery. Wayne was born in Rockingham County to the late John and Ruby Smith Soyars. He was an electrical contractor with Miller Brewing Company for many years. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing and hunting. He entertained his family with his mischievous nature and unexpected pranks. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Candler Soyars; his great grandson, Jodi Eric Rodriquez; his sisters, Betty Jean Apple, Ruby Soyars Jones and his brother, Charles P. Soyars. Wayne is survived by his daughters, Carmen Soyars of Reidsville, Stacey Soyars-Randleman and husband, Dean of Elon and Beth Januzys of Reidsville; his son, Randy Rayeburn and wife, Palmira of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Jackson and husband, Larry of Reidsville and Anne Moore of Charlottesville, VA; brothers, Carl Soyars and wife, Cathy of Ruffin and Bill Soyars and wife, Linda of Reidsville as well as a large extended family. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12th at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at his home.
