John Mitchell "Mitch" Walker

Ruffin: John Mitchell “Mitch” Walker, 82, of 2400 Worsham Mill Road died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Rockingham County Hospice Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Happy Home Church Cemetery with Dr. B. L. Cooksey officiating. The family wants you to know that casual attire is appropriate. Mitch was born in Caswell County to the late George Walker, Sr. and Viola Garrison Walker. He was a member at Camp Springs United Methodist Church and retired from Western Electric, Golden Belt and Saunders Hardware. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Sam Walker and several half brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Willie Frances Walker; son, Dean Walker and wife, Angie of Statesville; daughter, Stefanie Wall and husband, Jay of Browns Summit; grandchildren, Ryan Walker and wife, Catherine of Houston, TX, Lindsay Mattingly and husband, Thomas of Charlotte and Hannah Wall of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Jane Walker of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews. The children will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and his wife, Willie Frances will receive friends at the home.
