John "Dick" Walker Craddock

Reidsville – John “Dick” Walker Craddock, 90, of 1202 Gunn Street, Apt 14A, went to be with the Lord, May 14, 2010 at his home.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May18, 2010 at Rock Of Ages Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Bray officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites. Mr. Craddock was born in Monsville, Virginia to the late John and Maggie Della Vernon Craddock and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a retiree of the North Carolina Department Of Transportation and a faithful member of Rock Of Ages Baptist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Patricia and Sara Griffin; brothers and sisters.Survivors include his wife, the love of his life, Joan Craddock; daughters, Kay Lovelace and husband, Keith and Patsy Clymer and husband, Brian; son, Bruce Craddock and wife Shelia; grandson, Michael Keith Lovelace and Jeannie; great grandson, Brock Michael Lovelace; brother, Frank Craddock; sisters, Lucy Comer, Betty Biggs and Othia Miller; very special friend, Patsy Sergent.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, May 17th from 7-9 PM and other times at the home.The family would like to thank Dr. Knowlton and Hospice of Rockingham County for their care and concern during Mr. Craddock’s illness.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilkersonfuneral.com
