John Ruffin Wheless

Reidsville – John Ruffin Wheless, II, DDS, 91, of Reidsville, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at his home.Graveside funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Scott officiating. Military honors will follow the interment. The pallbearers will be Jay Wheless, Hutch Wheless, James Hammonds, Bill Simpson, Daniel Simpson and Ray Sparks.Dr. Wheless was born in Spring Hope, NC to the late Dr. John Ruffin Wheless, Sr. and Lillian Savage Wheless. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. Dr. Wheless retired from his dental practice after serving the Reidsville community for many years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Simpson Wheless of the home; his sons, John Ruffin Wheless, III, DDS and wife, Sandra of Martinsville, VA and Robert Lewis Wheless, DDS and wife, Jan of Reidsville; his grandchildren, John Ruffin Wheless, IV of Martinsville, VA, Kristen Wheless Jarrett and husband, Dean of Martinsville, VA and John Hutchins Wheless of Reidsville, NC; and his great grandchildren, Will, Ben and Kate Jarrett.There will be no formal visitation.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Carolina Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
