Reidsville – John Will “J.W.” Talley, Jr. 84, of 812 Oak Street, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Penn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Shannon Newsome officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Talley was born in Rockingham County to the late John Will Talley, Sr. and Esther Thelma Ellington Talley. He was a retiree of Macfield and a member of Reidsville Christian Church. A veteran of the Air Force in the 308 Squadron, he also served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Talley and two brothers, Arnold and Jett Talley. He is survived by a special niece, Debbie Bateman and husband, Derwood of Elon; brother, Bob E. Talley and wife, Josephine of Duluth, GA ; sister, Ruby Talley Warren of Reidsville.. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
