Reidsville - Johnson J.W. Worley Moore, Jr. 82, of 1555 Iron Works Road, died Thursday September15, 2011, at Moses Cone Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, September18, 2011 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mr. Moore was born in Rockingham County to the late Johnson Worley Moore, Sr. and Orphna Knight Moore. He was a retired tobacco farmer for 43 years and enjoyed gardening and selling produce to his customers. He was also a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, J. O., Fred, Lindsay and Harvey Moore; sister, Edna Pearman.Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Moore of the home; sons, Gary Moore and wife, Terri of Reidsville, Johnson Lynn Moore and wife Narie of Texas; daughter Janice Moore of Reidsville; grandchildren, Brooke Michael and husband, Jason and Ryan Moore and wife, Mae; great grandchildren, Connor, Peyton and Cody Michael and Joshua and Johnson Wesley Moore; step grandson, John Jennings and wife, Kelly; step great grandchildren, Stephanie and Dylan Jennings; brother, James Melvin Moore and wife, Juanita of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday evening at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 3540 Iron Works Road, Reidsville, North Carolina 27320 or American Cancer Society, 4A Oak branch Drive, Greensboro, North Carolina 27407
