Joseph Thomas Adkins

Joseph Thomas Adkins, 79, of Reidsville, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 15, 2021 at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Underwood officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. Please feel free to come to the funeral home on Sunday or Monday prior to the service to pay your respects and sign his register. Joe was born in Danville, VA to the late Willie Adkins and Vera Watson Adkins. He served his country in the US Army and was a veteran of Vietnam. He retired from Roadway Express and enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to classic country music. He loved to fish, especially offshore and loved hunting. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Adkins; son, Thomas H. Adkins and wife, Amber; step-daughter, Renee Hatchett; grandchildren, Kayla, Kimberly, Kelsey, Olivia and Latisha Adkins; 1 great grandchild.
