Reidsville: Joseph Roger “Joe” Davoli, 68, of Piedmont Street, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 20th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 1909 Richardson Drive. The funeral service will be held as a celebration of Joe’s life at 7:00 PM, Thursday evening, August 20th at First Presbyterian Church of Reidsville, 318 South Main Street, Reidsville, NC 27320 with the Rev. Dr. Doug McLeroy officiating.
Joe was born on February 5, 1947 in Utica, NY. He was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Reidsville. Joe was born an artist. His passion and love for flowers and floral design opened doors for him nationwide. He served as past president of the North Carolina State Florist Association and continued to serve the board and the association for decades. He was recognized as the North Carolina Florist of the Year in 1993 and received the Distinguished Service Award in 1997. His creative eye for design and his meticulous attention to detail wowed customers again and again. Beyond his countless gifts as a floral designer, Joe’s heart for his floral family and friends will stand for generations to come. Joe always said, “Family are the friends you meet along the way”. He was a mentor to everyone he encountered and had the uncanny ability to speak encouragement and life to people in all situations.
He is survived by his former spouse, Debbie Drinkwater of Charleston, SC, his adopted family and countless friends.
