Joseph "Joe" Kirby Wilkins

Reidsville –Joseph “Joe’ Kirby Wilkins, Jr. passed away Saturday, December 26, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Dr. Duane King officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens . Joe was born in Rockingham County to the late Joseph Kirby Wilkins, Sr. and Beulah Bondurant Wilkins. He was Operations Supervisor at Duke Power, served 4 years in the US Navy during WWII, was a golfer and a woodworker. He attended Piedmont Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie Wilkins; sister, Virginia Angle; brother, Bill Wilkins; brother-in-law, Bill Tuttle and sister-in-law, Mary Wilkins. Joe is survived by his wife, Brenda Campbell Wilkins of the home; son, Joseph Kirby Wilkins, III and wife, Jenny; step-son, Andy Williams; daughter, Janet Cook and husband, Ceedy; grandchildren, Brad Cook and wife, Crystal and Greg Cook and wife, Holly; step- grandchildren, Megan Noell and Husband, C.J. and Dylan Williams; great granddaughter, Kylee Cook; step great- granddaughter, Aubree Noell; sister, Dot Tuttle. The family will receive friends and family Monday, December 29, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 10:00AM – 11:00AM and other times at the home.
