Browns Summit– Joseph Lee Wilson, 78 of 325 Big Oak Trail, died on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery, 4927 Foster Road, Providence, NC. Joseph was born on February 19, 1936 to the late Frank and Hattie Ferrell Wilson and was a farmer most of his life. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Leonard Wilson and many other loved ones. He was a great and loving father who enjoyed joking and sports. Survivors include his sons Dwayne Wilson and Kenneth Wilson; grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Jeremy Smith and Kenneth Lee Wilson, II; great grandchildren, Katelyn Carter, J.J. Smith and Noah Brogan; sisters, Annie Grubbs, Ina Holt and Helen Lovings. The family will see friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
