Josephus Taylor

Reidsville – Josephus “J.C.” Taylor, 85, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Marlowe, Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. George Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved son, Wayne. J.C. was born in Rockingham County to the late Josephus Taylor, Sr. and Ada Flippin Taylor and was a retiree Golden Belt. He faithfully attended Midway Methodist Church. J.C. loved the Lord and his smile will be remembered always. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving son, Roger Wayne Taylor; brothers and sisters, Austin Taylor, Richard Taylor, Gladys Vernon and Bernice Roberts. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Ernestine Hennis Taylor; son, Donald Taylor; granddaughter, Raven Allen; great granddaughter, Lachlan Allen; adopted daughter, Carol Means; brother, Rayford Taylor; sister, Betty McGee and husband, Billy and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
