Brown Summit: Joshua Gray Toler, Jr., 85, of 5929 Bush Road, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Hillcrest Baptist Church 3920 Baylor Street, Greensboro, NC, with Rev. Larry Pugh officiating. The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro with military rites performed by Randolph County Honor Guard.
Joshua was born in Rockingham County to the late Joshua Gray and Thelma Lampkin Toler. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Loftis Toler and son, Ronald Toler. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He retired as a driver from Air Products after 40 years of service. Joshua was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and he loved all of his family, including his dogs.
Joshua is survived by his sons, James Eugene Toler and wife Patty of Brown Summit, William Gregory Toler of Brown Summit, and Robert Lynn Toler and wife, Caroline of Oakridge; his grandchildren, Courtney Marini, Jamie Toler and Candace Toler; his great-grandchildren, Ryan Tully, Ireland Carroll, Trinity Toler, Jacob Carroll and Joshua Toler; and his brothers, Benny Toler and Joe Toler.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the funeral on Saturday, May 25, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, and other times at 1780 Kalon Drive, Brown Summit.
