Joy Melinda Smith

JOY MELINDA SMITH of Danville VA passed away on November twelve at the age of 62 after a long battle with cancer.

Joy, daughter of Cecil Allen Smith and Dolly Woodall Smith Miller was born and reared in Reidsville North Carolina. She was predeceased by her grandparents Julius and Vergie Smith and Joe and Nellie Woodall; father, Cecil Allen Smith; brother, Kenneth Joe Smith; and sister, Donna Rene Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Dolly Woodall Smith Miller (Tom); son, Jesse Lee Barber; daughter, Bridgette Barber, and granddaughter, Miranda Barber. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Allen Smith and sister, Robin Akel (David); along with. special friend, Bill Waldron and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A graveside service will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday at the Full Gospel Church Cemetery at 231 Narrow Gauge Road in Reidsville under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Service with Tom Miller officiating.

Family and friends will gather at other times at her mother’s home.
