Joyce Horn Lester

Reidsville – Joyce Horn Lester, 77, of 592 Harrison Crossroads died Monday May 10, 2010 at her home.Funeral services will be held 11:00AM , Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Earnest Sartin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Vanmeter, Leonard Horn, Donnie Rash, Robert Hinton, Steve Lester and Joey Lester. Joyce was born in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Johnnie and Floy Wagoner Horn. She was a nurse and a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ora Lester; brothers, Wade, Henry and Wayne Horn; sister, Maxine Horn. She is survived by her sons, Dewey Lester and wife, Judy and Danny Lester and wife, Kathy, both of Reidsville; grandchildren, Steve Lester and wife, Kathy, Joey Lester and wife, Tabitha, Kimberly Lester, Heather Evans and husband, Brad and Christopher Harmon, all of Reidsville; great grandchildren, Alex Willard, Emily Owens, Tyler Lester, Nathan Lester, Breanna Owens, Cheyenne Lester and Eric Mc Carty; brother, Jack Horn of Tazewell, VA.; sisters, Nadine Hinton and husband, Robert of Edwardsburg, MI, Dorothy Barker of Elkhart, IN, Peggy Cantrell and husband, Otis of Alexandria, IN, Thelma Rouch of Ekhart, IN and Brenda Rash and husband, Donnie of Morganton, WV; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her granddaughter, Kim Lester for the loving care of her grandmother and great grandmother.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday, May 12, 2010 and other times at the home.
