Joyce Adele Thomas

Mrs. Joyce Adele Moore Thomas, 92 of Jamestown NC passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2022.

A funeral service will be held on December 31, 2pm at United Church of Christ, 5001 NC 150 Browns Summit NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and the committal will follow the service at the church cemetery.    

Mrs. Thomas was born January 6, 1930, in Bradford County Florida to the late Aubrey Rodney Moore and Lilly Mae Anderson Moore. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Percy Leon Thomas. Her brothers Lenord Vincint Moore and Paul Rodney Moore. Son in law Kenneth Hylton Earles.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children Stephen Thomas, his wife Christine Belle and Karen Fenz, her husband Hans. Her sons and daughters in law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren of the late Eddie Pastor and Belle Pastor of Bacolod City, Philippines as well as a loving group of friends in the Monticello UCC and Boiling Springs Lake, Southport communities.

Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of UNCG and A&T Universities with a master's degree in Psychology and Family counseling, Suma Cum Laude. She served the Rockingham County Youth Involvment Progam for 15 years and started Thomas Counseling Service prior to her retirement. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ladies fellowship of the United Church of Christ Monticello NC.
