Katherine Wray McKinney

Pelham – Katherine Wray McKinney, 93, formerly of 2667 Chandler Mill Rd, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Brian Center of Yanceyville. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. McKinney was born in Caswell County to the late Pete and Mary Murphy Wray. She retired from Cobb’s school and was a hard worker with a heart of gold. Katherine loved caring and helping others even in the tobacco fields. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard McKinney; son, Bobbie Bernard McKinney and 12 brothers and sisters. Mrs. McKinney is survived by six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and sisters, Jane and Molly of Richmond, Va. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22, from 7-9 PM and other times at the residence of Jerry and Shirley Wray, 3173 Law Rd., Pelham, NC.
