Reidsville – Kathleen Allen Paschal, 101, formerly of 2353 Grooms Road, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Penn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church in the old church’s tradition and in much of the church’s original setting with Elder David Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Kathleen was born on March 22, 1911 in Rockingham County to the late John P. and Annie Lea Paschal Allen. She attended Lower Grooms School and worked a few years as a cigarette catcher at the former American Tobacco Company in Reidsville. Kathleen was of the Primitive Baptist faith and faithfully attended Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church for many years. During most of those years she devotedly assisted her husband Lee, who served as a deacon. An expert seamstress she spent most of her life as a loyal homemaker. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family, home and church were the most important things in her life. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Andrew Paschal; daughter-in-law, Norma Hooper Paschal; sisters, Mildred Allen and Fannie “Teenie” Sue Ware; brothers, John, Alfonzo, Clarence, Herbert, Earl and Sidney Allen. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Lee Paschal, Garland Earl Paschal and wife, Geneva and J.D. Paschal and wife, Jan all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kimberly Paschal, Renea Paschal Myers and husband, Dan, Tracey Paschal Anderson and husband, Rick, Jennifer Paschal Rash and husband, Robbie, John P. Paschal and Anna Paschal Varnedoe and husband, Ben; great grandchildren, Kathleen “Katie” Rash, Andrew Rash, Nicholas “Nick” Myers and Meredith Anderson; step great grandchildren, Jonathan Myers, Justin Myers, Megan Anderson and Mandy Anderson; sister, Sadie Manley; sister-in-law, Freda Tucker Allen and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, November 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of her son, J.D., 2001 Carpenter Drive, Reidsville. The family wishes to thank all the ladies who assisted Kathleen for several years at her home and the nurses and staff at Penn Nursing Center over the past three years, especially Shontale Blackwell, Vicki Jones and to Dr. Roy Fagan.
