Katie VanHook Nagy

Reidsville – Katie VanHook Nagy, 84, of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Reidsville, NC, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Fairgrove United Methodist Church in Reidsville, NC with Rev. John Jolly officiating. Interment will follow in Fairgrove Church Cemetery. Mrs. Nagy was a graduate of Towson University and the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, MD and also Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD. She retired as a chemist with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the chorus of the Baltimore Opera. She loved the outdoors, fishing, crabbing and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Velma Keen VanHook and a brother, Charles T. VanHook.Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Robert P. Nagy; sisters, Laura Wilson, Anne Gordon, Viola Lohrberg and Linda Pardue; brothers, W. Edward Keen and Claude A. Keen; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
