Kempie G. Gardner

Reidsville: Kempie G. Gardner, 82, of 151 Kinknicar Road, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Gardner was born in Rockingham County to the late Josiah Carter and Ollie Isley Chism. She was a retiree of Bethany School Cafeteria and a member of Sharon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Layton Gentry, Jr. Survivors include her husband, David Gardner; daughter, Janet Pruitt and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Jason Dyson and wife, Megan and their children, Grant and Trevor; Ben Pruitt and Andrea and their children, Morgan, Baylee and Sarah; sister, Virginia Parrish. The family will see friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
