Kenneth Eddie Dickerson

Kenneth Eddie Dickerson, 66, of Eden passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at the Slaydon Family Cemetery on Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Terry Larsen officiating. The family will receive friends other times at the home of his mother, Florine Hammock.

Kenny was born in Warwick County, Virginia to Florine Slaydon Hammock and the late Eldridge Vernon Dickerson Sr. He graduated from Ruffin High School and briefly served in the U.S. Army. Kenny loved all animals, especially his dog, Virginia, and his cat, Fleamarket. He had a small farm where he raised sheep and strays. Kenny loved NASCAR and was always dancing and enjoying country music; he was always just full of life and laughter. Most of all he loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Wayne Dickerson; granddaughter, Destiny Dickerson; mother, Florine Slaydon Hammock; sisters, Brenda Young (Ronnie), Susan Justice, Shirley Hillard (Danny), Deborah Chrismon, Melissa Hanks (Kimmy), Pamela Dickerson; brothers, Eldridge “Pete” Dickerson, Michael Dickerson, Roger Daryl Dickerson, Gary Dickerson; girlfriend, Rhonda Walker; special pets, dog, Virginia and cat, Fleamarket along with many unnamed sheep and a large group of loving friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rockingham County Humane Society at 205 Boone Rd. Eden, NC 27288.
